Leslie Rosenberg, LCSW
Leslie Rosenberg, LCSW is a Senior Behavioral Health Counselor for the behavioral health collaborative care internal medicine program at Northwell Health on Long Island, New York. Growing up as the child of two physicians (primary care and OB/GYN), it is probably not a coincidence that she found herself working in a healthcare setting with patients, the majority of whom have multiple chronic medical conditions.
In this role, Leslie provides short and medium term psychotherapy, as well as psychotropic medication management and crisis intervention support under the supervision of psychiatrist consultants. She also co-manages her team’s graduate internship placement program, where she is passionate about helping to shape the next generation of clinical social workers and licensed mental health counselors. Leslie has collaborated as a co-author on multiple academic initiatives within the Division of General Internal Medicine at Northwell, including co-authoring multiple national conference abstracts and presentations.
Prior to social work school, Leslie spent several years working in Democratic politics on multiple state, local, and national campaigns, as well as on Capitol Hill, before becoming a researcher and writer at Media Matters for America. Leslie is passionate about combining her history of activism with her clinical skills to provide an antiracist approach to psychotherapy in the tradition of her beloved alma mater, the Smith School of Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts. She lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with her husband Lee, and is the proud cat mom of a rescue tabby named Howie (after the Howard Beach neighborhood of Queens where he was found alone and hungry on the street).
